Engagement has been quite the buzzword in communication. And it’s true, engagement is key to a brand’s success.

Whether you’re a business or an organization, you want to capture your audience’s attention and reinforce the bond with your community – employees, customers, members or volunteers. You want them on board, you want to be a part of their life – this and this only will create awareness and loyalty and in the end, more clients and more sales.

How can we create engagement? First of all by being relevant and creating meaningful conversations. You can be as fun and cute as you can, throw a ton of kittens to your followers, at the end of the day they will stick around if you bring value in their life. Being pretty and funny helps on the first date, but we all know there is so much more to a true lasting love story. Same goes in communication!

 

So let’s really listen to your potential customers. What are they passionate about? What are their challenges? And how can you help? These are the really important questions. Try to step in their shoes and see what you can bring them: comfort? connection? reassurance? inspiration? Then figure out how you can provide this: a recipe? a quote? a coupon? a piece of information? a how-to video?
